Trabajando con Zarco

People often ask us how long it takes us to train our horses. “These horses are so well trained - how do you do it?”

Well, we begin with patience and consistency. Slowly, poco a poco, getting them used to being handled, having a saddle, wearing a bit, as well as taking them out ‘for a ride’ (with no rider) so that they can begin to learn the terrain, get comfortable with the sights and smells and sounds they will one day encounter with a rider.

Zarco just turned two years old. He is growing big and strong. And he is also gentle and calm, from the work that Jose has been doing with him. This is all before anyone begins to ride him!

So, when you come for a ride, all of this work has gone into the horse, most often for a few years, to give you a riding experience like no other!
